Mark Harriss


Pastor Mark is in his second year of ministry at Zion.  Pastor Mark graduated from Concordia Seminary in 2016 and accepted Zion’s call.  Pastor Mark, his wife Rebecca, and their daughter's Elsa, Abigail, and Magdalene live in the church Parsonage located on church grounds.  Pastor Mark’s office hours are M-T 9am-2:30pm.

Tim Krysl


Tim has been a member of Zion for 36 years.  He has served Zion in many of the possible lay-leader roles.  From teaching Sunday School to serving as President of the congregation, Tim can almost always be seen working at Zion.  Tim is a teacher in the Festus R-6 School District where he teaches U.S. History and coaches XC and Track & Field.  His hobbies include running, shotgun reloading, hunting, reading, and gardening.  Tim, his wife Tracy, and their four children Loralei (5), Henry (3), Jillian (1), & Genevieve (1) reside in Festus.

Community Action Coordinator

Al is a lifetime member of Zion who has served in every possible lay-led capacity!  Currently Al's work focuses on Zion's mission of being the serving arm of Jesus Christ in the Hillsboro and surrounding communities.  Through the Beautiful Feet Project and Gracy Day, we continue to serve those in need with the love of Jesus Christ while looking for other ways to be of service as well.  Contact Al if you know  of a community need that Zion may spread the Love of Christ to.

Office Secretary

Shirley is a lifelong member of Zion who has served in multitude capacities: Sunday School teacher and superintendent, chair of the Ladies Aid, member and secretary of the Voters Assembly, & member of the choir.  She presently serves as Zion’s Church Office Secretary.  Additionally, she has worked as  a librarian at Jefferson College, for over 32 years.  Shirley and her husband, David, reside in rural DeSoto; proud grandparents to eight wonderful grandchildren.
